A POPULAR car dealership is due to shut down in weeks after 54 years, as owners have launched a huge closing down sale. It is an historic family-run business that has been a staple of the local community. Owners of Denbury Diesels, Mike and Tracey Perrman, have decided to retire from the industry after several happy decades . The used car dealership in Newton Abbot, Devon is now selling the final of their stock. They made the announcement on social media, thanking their "lovely" customers, but saying it had come to for them to step away. On Facebook, the business wrote: "It's been an amazing 54 years of trading as Denbury Diesels and looking after all our lovely customers past and present. "The time has now come to retire." They added that all vehicles sold will be given a two-year free warranty. "We have our retirement sale on and everything must go by the end of August." "We will be giving a 2 year free warranty with all vehicles sold." As one of the best and most well-loved car dealerships in the area, customers shared their sadness with the news. On social media, people came to wish the pair the best: "Happy retirement Perrymans, thank you for looking after me and and the Dodd boys so well and keeping us on the road." Dealership quotes driver $7,000 for a basic dashboard repair – but his local mechanic fixed it for $125 in two hours Another person added: "To Mike and Tracey, I hope that you both have a very happy and well deserved retirement." Denbury Diesels was a business that offered servicing, repairs, MOTs and diagnostics on all makes of cars, including light commercial vehicles, motor homes and minibuses, as well as sold them. It's site boasted a 12-bay workshop facility, and a paint and body shop.
